I came across this abandoned Class A motorhome on the Apache Trail last weekend. Anybody here about this incident or know who the motorhome belongs to? I hope everyone was ok?

One other thought, it's going to cost a small fortune to tow that thing outta there, probably cost more for the tow than the thing's worth. I'll bet the owner permanently abandoned it.

That rig should've been able to do Fish Creek Hill with few problems, if any. Being that it's an old junker, I wonder if the brakes failed, steering failed, or the driver was drunk or just incompetent. Who knows? I've seen plenty of gasser motorhomes on that road. We used to tow our boat on that road, first time was at night, no big deal. DMV won't tell anybody anything - privacy laws.

Does law enforcement go down that road? If not you should contact them about this. It's the responsibility of the owner and/or their insurance to remove it from that location.

It looks like the driver of this RV tried to take his coach on a road that he should have avoided.
I saw one person try, and fail, to drive their rented Class C down the Moki Dugway in Utah. He might have had a tough time explaining why he failed to heed the big warning signs.

Your blog says "The stench of the abandoned hunk is pretty bad, too, with area around the motorhome swarming with flies and bugs."

Did you check it for bodies?

Hey Mike

Should be able to run the license plate at DMV and find out who owns it... No plates then run the VIN number...

I haven't been on the Apache Trail in a few years now... Missing out on all the fun haha... Used to run the off shoot trails back until they quit then you would find a circle full of Jeep tracks and fire pits haha...

Used to see all kinds of wrecked vehicles at the bottom of Fish Creek... The couple of over hangs up on top would put one over the rail in a heart beat hehe... Take a picture and claim Insurance I guess...
