Air conditioning leaking

Hello. I have a 1996 Monaco Dynasty and when I have the air conditioning on there is water coming from the roof. Is this normal and if no what might be the problem please. Thank you in advance.

Yes, it's normal and just fine. But just to clarify, it isn't leaking as there is no water in the AC. It is condensation that forms on the coils and then drips off into the pan and out the drain hole and normally across the roof.

Normally water dripping off of the roof is not considered a leak. If your AC unit is leaking in to the interior, then it is probably the AC gasket that needs to be tightened or replaced. This is not that difficult of a job to tighten or to replace the gasket but with a 1996 coach I would say it is long overdue.

ac normally will make water while cooling air removing moisture. Now where it drains depends on manufacturer. On my 96 Rexhall it runs off the roof. How I am leveled dictates which side it will run off. Some coaches have drains and will drain below the coach. Now if you have water coming into the coach that is another problem.

When I see the drops coming from an exterior corner of our rig, that tells me all is working fine. 🙂
