Over the past 12 years, our basement door latches have worked smoothly and required zero adjustments. This summer after being parked for 6 weeks in Minnesota, I had to move the striker plates on three doors on the driver's side almost 1/4 inch to get them to latch properly. The striker plates have an slot for adjustment but required new tapped holes to put them in the right position.
Today I had to move one plate back to its original position? I can't imagine what's going on.
One of your answers suggested "Expansion". Well, I kind-a agree with that. I'm assuming you have some sort of rubber seals around those compartment doors. About 99.999% of them do. It could be that those seals are getting old and, possibly expanding and or, shrinking, which ever way you have to adjust your strike plates. Our present coach, an '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD with the C-7 330HP CAT, is 11 years old and, so far, in the last 4 years since we purchased it, I've had to replace one set of door gas struts and, one broken plastic basement door latch.
Haven't had to adjust any though. Hmmmmm, not really sure. This is kind-of a new on me.
