I finally took my RV to a dealer to have the back bedroom slide issue
fixed. Well its done now and was not a large issue. Seems in addition
to the fact that the house batteries needed replacing (bought from Walmart- not good) one of the wires on the slide motor had rubbed against the rail and had separated. Once these two issues were fixed the problem was fixed For all you novices, i am one, the slides work off of 12volt.

Batts from Walmart should be fine if, like any other battery, they are maintained properly. Are they as good as Trojans?...maybe not, might have slightly shorter lifespan, especially if doing a lot of boondocking, but the differences would be slight other than that.

When a dealer says that Walmart's batteries are junk, in my book, they're just trying to upsell you on batteries. Your batteries may very well have been bad...but buying them from Walmart had nothing to do with it. Having a shorted wire that would intermittently drain/short them would.

Hi,

I've successfully used Walmart marine batteries. On my previous RV they last 9.5 years.
