Brand of scooter carrier

What brand of scooter carrier do you have? How easy is it to load? It will be for a 375lb. Honda Reflex. Thanks, Lee

Being 72 I found that an Electric Scooter Lift similar to this one made loading much easier. For tying down your scooter do not use the tie down straps that automatically retract. As you hit bumps on the road they will keep shortening up and may pull the scooter over at an angle. I am in the process of switching to cam lock types that hold their setting but are easier to operate than the ratcheting type. If your scooter blocks your license plate you will need to relocate it. I actually took a receiver hitch scooter carrier and modified it to work with the electric lift mechanism.

We went from the east coast to the grand canyon, and back and It was stable and never gave me any concern at all. My motorhome is 31 feet long with a Class 3 hitch the carrier weighs 88lbs and my wifes motorcycle weighs 380. The front of my motohome NEVER felt too light, and it did NOT affect the steering of my motorhome. I checked the carrier, tie downs, and the anti-sway device that comes with the carrier every day before we hit the road after the nights rest, and it was fine each time i checked. This carrier performed extremely well on all the nastiest roads i have ever encountered..... Im glad we bought it and it will be standard equipment on every trip we take now. Some find that a small trailer to haul a scooter or two and "stuff" is a better solution. I use a 40lb aluminum hitch mount rack for my 188lb Honda Trail 90 without much affect on our 27 foot Tioga steering. We got our rack on Ebay some years ago.

I carry a 380 lb Honda big ruckus on a versahaul carrier rated at 600lb on the back of my Jeep GC and tow both. I did have a truck fabricator strengthen the hitch by welding metal plates to connect the unibody and bumper together. Only for towing. I Don't drive the Jeep with scooter mounted.

That is a lot of weight to carry behind the rear axle. The carrier will weigh as well. You might be adding close to 1,000 lbs to the rear axle. You might want to measure how far behind the rear axle the middle of the Reflex will be. It will lift most of that weight off the front axle (see-saw effect).
