Ceiling hanging a little - How do I fix it

Hi, the ceiling of my Cayman is hanging about an inch in the middle at the trim above the seats. I can push in the trim with my hand and the hole ceiling goes up.

How can I fix this? I was thinking at putting a screw or two and putting a snap cover over the screw.

Maybe one of These will hold it up.

Thanks all, I think the screw will be the answer for an easy fix.

I once used these and looked like factory did it. http://www.rvwholesalers.com/catalog/rosette-washers-white.html?gclid=CImp48v7y8ICFQVafgodoqMAdA

But plan A for me would be to install some type of light, if it would look like it belonged there which would fix ceiling hanging low and light up RV more. Plan B is those rosette things.

I might try a very small hole to see if I drill through a rib. I do not think there is any leak, never saw water from the ceiling.

The plastic/vinyl trim that holds it in place has a rib in the middle, I would think that this rib would go into an insert like a clip to hold the ceiling in.

Mine has a steel or metal framework. If you find the ribs you can drill a small hole, enough to feed a screw or however many you need. The sag could be caused by a leak or may not. Usually if it's a leak you will see something to let you know that, be it stains, water pooling, mold or mildew or something. I did a couple of ceiling ribs a couple of weeks ago that were starting to come down a little. I used small button head screws and then painted the heads to match the ceiling. Unless you were looking for it it's not likely you would see it, or care. The important thing when putting screws in like this is that if there are several they need to be in a straight line.

The ceiling is leather/vinyl. The Roof on my MH is alluminum, I do not know if there is a rib there to screw on, but when I push on it, it stops against something.

I have tried to pull on the trim but it does not seem to detatch from the ceiling cover, I cannot see how it is fixed to the underside.

I had this happen years ago in a 1992 Rockwood motorhome that we owned. I located the wooden ribs that should hold up the ceiling and at specified intervals I pushed in colored thumb tacks to match the color of the ceiling. Did a super job and looked very nice when it was done.

Is this Ozite? If not, what is the material.

If Ozite carpet and no discoloration, I would discount a leak and suspect poor glue job at the factory.

You could do the screw idea with the snap cover as you stated. If you look around, you can probably find a snap cover that is a good match. Then install them evenly across the seam so it looks factory.

gptta find out why. sounds like you might have a roof leak ,OR it just came loose from its mounting. if you can take a section down and see whats going on. they do make spray glue in a can that shoots about twoft stream.
