Class A georgie boy 12 volt electrical problem.

Hi guys. Having some sort of electrical issue with my 1994 georgie boy 28' pursuit. Just recently, I replaced the battery charger/converter, because it was not charging the batteries properly. Seemed to work fine for about a month. Now, all my 12 volt lights, water pump, etc. will only work with the rig either plugged in, or hooked up to shore power. If you are running the generator, everything is fine. Shut the generator off, and every single 12 volt appliance is dead too. Any ideas what it could be?

Clean the battery terminals. See if you have voltage on the posts and then check the battery cable.

Hi,

There are reverse polarity fuses on many converters. They may have failed.

There are also fuses or circuit breakers between the converter and the battery bank. They may have failed.

If there is a main disconnect switch between the converter and the battery bank, that may have failed.

You may find it easiest to trouble shoot with a volt meter of some kind.
