When buying a used motorhome, what can I expect to pay from a dealer at the end of negotiations? Is the price closer to the low retail price or average retail price as listed in the NADA guides?

Specifically looking at '11 Newmar Canyon Star 3642 36' gas w/22,300 mi.& 3 slideouts with a list price of $89,998 vs. '12 Tiffin Allegro Open Road 36LA 36' gas w/16,500 mi. & 3 slideouts with a list price of $104,998.

I agree with above comments about doing your homework on PPL website and also RV Trader for national pricing. NADA can be part of your guide and you should know that the NADA Wholesale Price is the price dealers offer on trade-ins. If you have a good reference library near you they usually have the NADA Wholesale price book, but it is basically 8-10% below low retail. It is a reasonable assumption that the dealer paid no more than NADA Wholesale for the rv. When you decide on model/year, let us know and we may be able to offer more help on pricing.

Look on Ebay and PPL for sold MH's in the same year and condition as the one you are planning to buy. Nada is a guide but not gospel. Research and due diligence will get a close number but ultimately it comes down to a lot of other factors, like how much the dealer has in it, his inventory, demand etc. Did he trade it or buy it at a wholesaler or auction? Lots of factors outside NADA.
