Driving north on I75 at the Georgia border. All of a sudden the cruise control quit, all of the dash gauges went to zero. Allison transmission readout went to "DD" instead of "D5" which was normal. Two messages alternated on the dash readout.

No Comm. with Engine ECU
No Comm. with Trans ECU

Anyone have any ideas?

I had a very similar problem and it was a bad connector in between my BCC (battery control center) compartment below the driver in front of the tire and the dash. There was another that had this problem and he said he found his wire harness had come loose from the frame causing the connector to unplug.

Ignition switch or more likely the ignition solenoid that it controls.

Easy to diagnose: turn on the key. Does anything that only works with the ignition on still work-- dash fan is an easy one to check.

If nothing works that works off the ignition, there is an emergency work around and also pretty easy to determine if solenoid or wiring/switch.
