Iโ€™m looking at purchasing a 2008 Forest River Lexington 283. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of this manufacturer or this model?

Yes absolutely , condition more than brand.
If you are downsizing from an A to a C , the ride might be different due to the different chassis. Research the handling end of things.

Consider hiring a pro rv inspector to examine it. Might be money well spent !

In general , cabover designs have gotten better over the past 15 years . Older class Cโ€™s had more issues with leaking cabovers from roof seams, clearance lights and cabover windows.
Look for water stains or painted over panels trying to hide such.
Water will seek a low point. Cabover leaks can follow a path and puddle on a floor.
Use a flashlight to inspect dark corners.

If I were looking at an RV that was 15 years old I would be less concerned with brand or model and more about the condition. I have had 2 Fr products and pretty happy with them but you could pick a top of the line brand and it wouldn't matter if it wasn't taken care of vs a lower end brand that was immaculate.
