Soooo...as most have been following my blowout thread, I spent the entire day yesterday patching up and trying to fix damages caused by the tire. The most crippling thing was the destroyed gas filler neck. After a half day calling around to various service centers and parts houses in a hundred mile radius from here, I found basically nothing. I called a buddy of mine that lives in the area and used to be a fabricator. He knew of a salvage yard close by and was able to salvage the gas filler neck from a Ford F150. It was slightly smaller than the one on the coach, but with some ingenuity and the use of some rubber fuel line we were able to redneck-engineer a work around for now. Hopefully it'll let me get enough gas in the tank to get home safely. It might take an hour to fill the tank, but hopefully I'll be able to get gas in it. Bad part about it...we lost a full day of precious vacation time fiddling around with fixing it.
Now, the real purpose of this post.... anybody know of a source to get an actual OEM replacement gas fill neck assembly? Three separate Ford dealerships were not able to locate anything and non of the big box auto parts stores had any luck. Heck , they didn't even have a listing for an F53 chassis. There's gotta be one out there SOMEWHERE.....
