Generac Generator

I believe my generator needs a fuel pump as it will run then shut down. Generator model # is 4270-3 Quiet Pact 75D. My question is if you have ever replaced the fuel pump in this generator and is it a diy job. I just replaced the starter in this unit and it was a buger but got it done.

Turns out it was the fuel pump so I replaced that and its running fine now.

Are there rubber fuel lines from the tank to the generator? If so it could just be a bad fuel line sucking air. Take the fuel line off the pump and put a fuel line in a 1/2 gal. of fuel and see if it will run that way if so you have a fuel line leak.
