Generator hours

We are ready to buy a 2008 Icon M-24D Dodge Diesel. It has 113,000 miles. My concern is the generator hours. It has a little over 400 hrs. Is that good or bad?

I believe that's built by Cummins/Onan. It's a quality product. If it's working okay now, you'll be good to go.

Just exercise it monthly under a load.
I have a 20 year old Onan, it runs great.

Do a Google search for your make/model. You'll get a rough idea of what a replacement will cost.
My guess is, it will be working properly and last you a long time.

Keep us updated on your progress.

The price right now for the RV is 42,500

If we would have to replace it, how hard and how much would it be? Would it be worth it?

The dealer said it started fine but we are going this weekend. I can check it starting it under load.

At 6 years old, that about 65 hours a year if spread evenly and could mean it was primarily run to keep it maintained. I'd see how it cranks and runs under load.

Welcome to the forum. What type generator?
400 hours on a 8 year old generator is not a lot of hours. If it's in good condition and working, I would not worry about the hours.
