Got yelled at!

Last night, I was sitting outside reading quite late - like 1AM. Just couldn't sleep. I had no music, no TV, and a bottle of water. Just nice quiet time with the sounds of late-night nature. The reason I sat outside is that my leg is a bouncer, and it drives my partner crazy.

So, the guy next to us on the DRIVER SIDE SITE comes over and raises holly hell that I am sitting outside this late, and that it is quiet time! He was loud. So, I stood up, took off my glasses and asked him why I was bothering him? He said it was quiet time and everyone is supposed to be in their RV. I told him to go away and call the host if he has a problem with it, and to leave me alone.

This morning, his wife came over to apologize. But, they still moved to another site. I am OK with that. The camp host came by to ask what happened, and I explained. He just rolled his eyes, and said he was sorry to bother me.

So, reading quietly is not allowed, according to this guy? I sit outside late often to read. While it is not normally that late, I am a bit of a night-owl. Thoughts?

Years ago I had a run in with the husband of a woman I worked with. We sat down and talked trying to straighten everything out. When it was over all I could think was I'm glad I'm not married to that guy. That still pops up when I hear of a situation like you just went through.

I am glad it didn't come to anything, nowadays you never know. Glad he moved and you didn't have to.

I chose to treat it as amusing.

I believe he probably did have some form of dementia, or awoke from a really bad dream. He wasn't a senior by any stretch, but more my age...about 50ish.

1) I was under my awning with a table lamp and a 60watt bulb. He was camped on the driver side site...so that is the OTHER SIDE from the awning.
2) I was drinking bottled water. No soda cans were popped.
3)I was out there two hours without getting up once, so no doors were opened.

I find it amusing that people are twisting it around. By page 5, I predict I will be completely at fault, and that I will be branded a bad camper.:p

I'll bet your one of those guys who moves his lips while he reads. If so, that would certainly be a good enough reason to have you evicted. 🙂

a dementia problem is what came to my mind when he seemed to be confusing "quiet" with "light".
you meet all kinds out there on the road. most of them are only mildly annoying or highly amusing.

Missed your chance. Should of told the guy you heard something like somebody breaking into RV's and he needs to stay awake and listen also.

There are medications being used for JLS.(Jumping Leg Syndrome) My DH had that same problem and took the meds for 3 years. They then weaned him off and he very seldom has a problem now. Almost like it retrained his brain to not do that. Just wanted to let you know if you read this. It is actually a medication used for epilepsy or parkinson's disease. Other things we found out is that many people with sleep apnea have this. Treat the sleep apnea and the jumping goes away.

Know someone with the jerky leg syndrome at night got them a JEANIE RUB MASSAGER really helps. We put something (beach towel) over our window if RV is close to a street light. Night shades at time is not enough. I'm sure you did not have a big light on. Maybe he needs to think of another solution instead of his coming out and making a fool of himself. Feel sorry for his wife.

Especially since he was on the offside of your rig where presumably he couldn't even see you in your "front yard", all I can say is: weird!

Glad to hear he and his X-ray vision moved to another site...

Quiet hours are not the same as lights out in the military. . .

No bunk checks to make sure you're in your rack at the campgrounds I go to. . .
