Hole in the floor

So I'm attempting to replace the in my mh. I cut a small hole in the sub floor to see if some rot extended beyond what I saw. I didn't realize until it was too late that I had cut through the aluminum underbelly as well. How big of a mistake did I make with that?

X-2, This is the avenue that I would take also. Sorry to hear about your mishap but you did the right thing by investigating the problem to see how far the extent of damage went.

Yup, a good polysulfide sealant, then screw a thin aluminum plate (any box store) over the hole. No big deal.

Patch it over correctly by using aluminum sheet plus screws. You'll also need to seal it from any type of water coming up.

If it is amuminum I would patch with aluminum using stainless sheet metal screws.

Tin shingles from roofing department. Should be under a buck apiece. Depending on how big of hole you might want to double them up.

Before you cover up hole, after you buy whatever your going to cover up hole with. Depending on where hole is, I would consider making the hole bigger and use it as a inspection port for future use. Maybe big enough to get flashlight inside to get a good look around.
