How Many of a Model Are Made?

How many of a particular model DP are made?

Do dealers order what they think they can sell and then those orders are filled or do the manufacturers build what they think the dealers will want?

We've seen a lot of the same model tag alongs at dealers but it seems as the price goes up the number out there goes down.

Can you guess what our weather is like today? If you said windy, cold & snowy, you'd be right. I'm bored and ready to do some camping.

I 'see' your point but what about the graphite?

What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

Dealers order what they believe they can sell. Manufactures build these orders. Durring slow periods, manufactures will build their best selling models and then offer dealer insentives.

The weather here is absolutely terrible. 80° sun shining, that sort of nasty stuff.
Of course Twinkies have graphite, that's why you gain weight when you eat them.

They use liquid graphite and squeeze it in like a Twinkie

There's graphite in Twinkies?

Until the 2008 meltdown, most OEMs built on a standard production schedule per week. IF they had unsold units to dealers, they discounted them to get dealers to buy. This is what caused Monaco to shut their doors. Monaco built hundreds of unsold units every year and they discounted them heavily to dealers at the end of the model year. Monaco was stuck with hundreds after dealers would not buy in 2008. Newmar has always been the exception. They only built units that dealers had ordered. Now, the OEM's build most units that are already sold to dealers (stock and customer optioned). They have modified their production and slow and speed up depending on sales volume as they do not want to get stuck with unsold units. Dealers may have what seems a lot of a model or brand, but that usually means they ARE selling them. Doug
