How to REMOVE ugly vinyl letters?

I have a Fleetwood Fiesta M/H. Fiberglass eterior. Love our coach. But this FIESTA logo has to go off the front of our M/H. It is just "Pure Ugly". I don't care about the ones on the side of the coach. This one on the front looks soooooooo UGLY. How can I safely remove this without doing any damage to the RV skin?

X2. Took several bumper stickers off my SUV the previous owner had put on. Worked perfectly, was easy, and did absolutely no damage to the paint.

Me too took off all the stripes this spring. Heat gun would not do the job and the razor is a bit tricky.

sorry, I was not trying to insult your RV. I was pointing out to the OP that if he removed his perfectly good and decent looking decal he might have a mess afterwards. really what is wrong with that decal?

Bumpy, you did not insult my RV. It was BUTT ugly before decal removal, now it is just plain UGLY. This fall's project is the removal of the rest of the decals, then it will be simply ugly. :b:b:b

After 16 years of Nevada sun and dust storms one sometimes has no choice. As bad as the outlines look, the MH still looks better now then it did with the decals.

You have to admit that FLAIR logo is really ugly. I've never liked it on the front of the coach. Like I said the ones on the sides are smaller and look ok where they are. The one on the front just looks sooooooooooooooooo bad to me. When we first bought the M/H, we baught it to satisfy our needs. That FLAIR logo has always been a thorn in my side but not enough to make me not purchase the unit.

As soon as the weather cools I think I will take the chance and get on a ladder and try to remove the ugly sucker.

Very interesting thread. The RV dealer that we purchased our RV from put their information in decal form on the rear and by the door of the RV. Does anyone know if they use the same type of decals as from the factory.

They probably get them made by a local sign company but the use of a hair dryer heat gun will still soften them enough to peel off.

Napa has a spray gasket removal that will remove vinyl graphics w/o damage on filon siding. Spray a little area and let it set for 5 or 6 minutes that scrap it off, then wash quickly with soapy water.

Another thing that works is:

1. Ambient air temp must be over 80 and parked in direct sunlight.

2. Spray with a soapy mix - 1/2 dw soap and 1/2 water.

3. Cover area with black plastic. Let it sit for 3 or 4 hours in the
sunlight.

4. Remove plastic and scrap it off. Works well on small area.

Have also used steam, heat gun and 3M buffer wheels to remove graphics, I prefer the gasket spray for large areas and the soap and water for small areas.

No matter what method used, the outlines are still there. On our last boat took a small artist style paint brush and black and gold enamel paints and outlined the areas. It looked like it was made that way.

We had the same problem with one of our coaches. Got the stickers and goo off but due to age and paint fade, you could still see the outlines at certain angles.

I see nothing wrong with it myself and think you have a good chance of making it look messy.
