I have a friend that needs to replace the springs on his HWH jacks. I remember reading an article in one of the mags about the best technique to avoid fighting the spring but can't locate it. I did a search on this forum but came up zip. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

when I replaced mine it was a fairly easy task. I hooked up one side spring, put a small bottle jack under the other end of that plate, raised it up bit by bit, when It got high enough slipped the other spring on. no muss, no fuss, easy task.
I had people suggest using a 2 x 4 for leverage, etc. which would be fine if I had superman's help, and three more arms.

When I did mine. We slid big washers in the coils. This made the springs longer.
After conn. the spring ends. Just remove the washers.
We also pushed the jacks up in store position. This was the hard part.
