I have a 2008 Roadtrek 190. From your experience does the inverter need to be turned on or off when hooked up to shore power in order to charge the coach battery. I honestly didn't realize that the inverter is actually a charger as well. Up until now as per the instructions received from the dealer, I have always made sure the inverter was off when hooked up to shore power. Thanks very much !
Arvie1: Is there any place on your inverter/charger to plug in a household appliance? All inverters have 120 volts receptacles on them. A converter does not have any plug in places. A converter produces 12 volts, and that feeds to the 12 volt positive and negative terminal strips. From those terminal strips usually there are feeds to the battery to charge the battery.

Artum Snowbird, I appreciate your reply but I'm hoping to someone who has experience with a Roadtrek will share their experience. The owner's manual, which I always refer to is a little less than explicate regarding the inverter/charger.
Can't say for sure, but I think you are talking about a converter. The inverter takes 12 volt power and inverts it back to 120 volts. The converter converts 120 volt power from your plug in into 12 volts. The converter also charges the batteries when plugged in and turned on with the circuit breaker in the 120 volt circuit breaker panel.
