NEW Super C

After almost 10 years fulltiming in a 5er, we're thinking of moving to a new Super c. Looking at Renegade Verona or Dynamex DX3. Like the Verona (also more $ than DX3) but DX3 is easier to find on a lot. We're likely a year away from making the move and looking for opinions or suggestions. Not interested in used (like to create my own problems with something new) and would need to trade in my 5er and potentially my F-350 dually.
PS...like the Seneca but need a kingish bed and a residential fridge which the Seneca doesn't have room for.

Zippy....Has your new Renegade been delivered yet? If yes how are things going for you and the coach? Thanks, RAG

We placed our order at the Tampa show for a 2018 Renegade Verona (due in April) 36VSB.

Although I haven't visited the factory, I have been by it many times over the years. The Verona is a semi-production unit with only 4 options available and no customization and Renegade supposedly only builds 4 per week. Not what I would consider anything like other production oriented manufacturers like Jayco, Dynamax etc.

If you want a custom Verona, you can order a Verona LE ($40k more expensive) or go to the larger super Cs they build on class 8 chassis.
This advise and/or opinion is worth what you paid for it!

When you visited Renegade what was the build process like? Was it an assembly line like Jayco and others where anything that doesn't have time to finish is the dealer/new owner problem or more of a custom build shop?

I also like the Renegade Verona. My wife and I visited the plant and we were both impressed with the quality of materials and workmanship! Not inexpensive, but typically you get what you pay for. If I was going to "Full Time," I would definitely pay the extra bucks for a higher quality Super C. Bagman.

Noticed the wheelbase difference and long overhang on the DX3. That was one of the reasons we went Renegade. Didn't notice the axle difference but sure liked the DX3 paint.

I was looking at possibly replacing the stock Sachs shocks on my new M2 Renegade Verona after seeing some M2's are coming OEM equipped with Bilstiens. Interesting piece of info was supplied to me...Forest River utilizes a much lighter rated front axle (12,000 lbs vs's Renegade's 13,300 lb) for their DX3 line and they therefore need the extra heavy duty Bilstiens to counter the light front axles. Dynamax all so uses a shorter wheelbase chassis for even their longer coaches so that they can move some weight off the front axle to the drive axle, really makes for some significant overhangs behind that rear axle. Very interesting info in my opinion. Just shows that in most cases you get what you pay for.

Congratulations! I was very disappointed with the DX3 also. It looked a lot more Forest River than Dynamax. I assumed that was what would happen to Dynamax after it was bought out. FR probably just wanted the name.

Thanks for the reply's. I went with a Renegade Verona (placed an order) for delivery summer of 2017. Need a few weeks to swap the stuff from my 5er so it will go up for sale after receipt of Renegade. Sure wanted the Classic with the Cascadia but just a few too many $ for me. Would have been the perfect choice but we'll make do. I agree the DX3 just didn't make it on quality but one level up (Dynaquest?) was great but again too many $.

Also went with Renegade. Choose the Renegade Classic and total custom build. Freight liner Cascadia 113 chassis, dd13 diesel, 470 hp, 1650 ft/lb torque, Allison automatic transmission . ready Jan 2017. 38 feet bumper to bumper. Had a Seneca preciously, no comparison in quality finish, hp 350 but only 680 ft/lb torque - 6.7 l etc. Renegade Verona is a good unit, but I wanted more hp and torque for mountain driving, 350 hp, 1000 ft/lb T - BC is home.
Renegade dealer in BC is O'Connor RV in Chilliwack - 2 units in stock

Having owned 8 RV's ranging from 38' to 24', from Class A's to small C's I think I know the trade very well. I spend over 1.5 years researching all Super C's out there and I concluded Renegade was the best and I purchased a new Verona 36 VSB. I only have 1900 miles on the coach but I have had zero issues with either the coach or the chassis. Renegade does a super job with quality and the PDI is superb. I looked at all of the major players including Dynamax, (both the Force and the DX-3) and I just did not see anywhere near the quality of construction that I saw/see in the Renegade product. The finish under a coach is what is most important, how is everything finished off, how are all of the wires tied up, what is the fit and finish of the hatch doors, what are the storage bins made of, you will see a huge difference, I just do not like Forrest River products. If you are looking at a pre F-R Dynamax product you are talking about a totally different product for sure. Renegade's are not cheap but I do think they will last much loneger compared to oether products out there. best of luck. RAG

Thanx for replies. Building to suit is a difficult option as we live in the rv. Need to sell the current rv (or trade in) when we get the new one. No other place to stay. As we are in the west and from Canada, dealers with stock on the lot are few and pretty much non existent in Canada. Selling Canadian vehicles in the USA is possible but a big hassle (need to import to the USA before selling). All the problems can be solved and I'm sure we will. Just looking to narrow down choices at this point and appreciate all your responses. Thanx.

Check out Nexus RV we are looking at the Ghost they will build it the way you need with in reason. The price is lower than others because you buy directly from the factory in Elkhart Indiana.

Both of those quality wise and features are a step above the Seneca. The Dynamax equal to a Seneca is more like the Force.
I looked at both of those you mentioned. Even though they were both on the same truck, the mfg. had different ideas of how to build the house.
Take a trip to Ft. Myers,Fla. The dealer has all models you mentioned.
