Parts for 1978 chevy c30 turtle top RV

I have a nice turtle top RV which is made by Ford motor co....it is setting on a one ton c30 series chevy van body...having trouble getting parts guy to figure out which ball joints to use...vin number is cgr3290102149. 400 ci motor 6.6 L......any idea what to tell these parts guys? Trying to get back on the road....ball joint separated during road trip...towed home....too large to tow to shop...trying to get ball joints here....HELP

Any prior owner could have taken the turtle top off any van, and installed it on their GM van.

You should be able to take off the old parts, and take them in to get the correct parts. Your dashboard VIN number (under the windshield) is the correct number to use on your van.

You would be confusing things if you give them the RV manufacture information.

That doesn't appear to be a GM vin number. Look for a plate on dash or in driver's door area. Surprised Ford built it on GM chassis.
Here is link for ball joints. I would suggest getting the upper control arm assembly with the ball joint installed as the control arm bushings go bad.
