We are thinking about purchasing a new leftover 2015 Palazzo. We are asking any forum users to provide any advice they have for new RVers or advice for new Palazzo owners.

We are thinking about purchasing the Palazzo from Camping World. If you have any advice to offer regarding Camping World Sales and Service, we would appreciate from hearing from you.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I drove a new 2016 Palazzo 36.1 not long ago and was very much impressed! I called and spoke with customer service at Thor yesterday and I'm now even more impressed. For the price there is nothing even close. And as stated earlier, I can think of a lot of things to do with and extra $100,000.00.

If you go over to the Thor forum on IRV2 you will find many folks very happy with their Palazzo. It gives you a little bit better perspective.

I must agree that customer service has been good. However, I would be happier if I didn't have cause to know that.

How does the Fleetwood Excursion compare to the Palazzo?

Much better for not much more ( when we were looking 3 years ago). To bad they stopped making them this year. No more Expedition either. That's what we finally decided on. Most for the money, and not much more than the other two ( at the time). And definitely not a Thor.

To your point Thor does make no secret of the fact that they are very proud of their low price. There is truth in the old saying that "You get what you pay for" and sometimes I do wish that someone offered this floor plan in a better built unit for a little more money. Thor themselves offer a similar sized coach (but not the same floorplan) for about $100,000 more that I would assume is better built and offers more amenities. I am just trying to make the point that not everyone that bought a Palazzo has had a disasterous experience and am tired of hearing about one guy that did as though everyone is going to have the same problems. The reason I did not respond earlier in this chain is that I was out camping in mine instead of monitoring the internet. Also, from what I can see the main issues have been addressed in the 3 years that have gone by since that happened. And I do enjoy having an extra 100 grand in my savings. That goes a long way to make up for some of the issues.

For the record, the main complaint I have on mine is the lack of a power management system that makes running on week shorepower a challenge. My second complaint would be that the Freightliner chassis on the 208" wheelbase should get the 340hp version of the engine and the Allison 2500 transmission so that it has some real towing capacity. The real rated towing capacity of the smaller units is only about 5,000lbs and that seems light to me for something built on a Freightliner chassis.

As the only person who actually owns one to respond I have had some issues with my 2013 model but do not regret the purchase. I really like the floor plan and there was nothing else close to the price that I paid for it. If I were you and the 2016 model was not too much more I think that I would go for it as it appears that several issues that I did have were addressed for 2016. Also, check prices here: http://www.mhsrv.com/thor-motor-coach/thor-palazzo/. I just noticed that the 2017 models are already on the lot.

I think that it was Forest River that seemed to have copied the floor plans if you want to look at a different take on the same idea.

If you want a detailed discussion pm me and I will be glad to share in detail about my experience.

IF you buy it after all the owners telling you to NOT buy it, then you will et what you are asking for, a BIG problem, THOR is a big problem with quality problems all over the place. I wsas in a Pallzso and it was beautiful but I opened a closet and could see OUTSIDE from the inside,. that is not good!
Be forewarned and buy something else and somewhere else. CW is known to be not such a great place for service so stay clear!

Or 14 months. I really don't think ANY manufacture produce vehicles 3 years predelivery. Although 2009 was lets say rather slow :W

I think what they were saying is check the build date.

I know our '08 came home in August of '07. A lot of '17's are out now.

If this '15 was born in early '14 it may not be 3 years old now but it could easily be 2 1/2.

Having said that, with what has been discussed already I'm thinking it's birth day is about the last thing to worry about. :W

You forgot that it also comes with a time machine.
