RePost: Moving Slide Manually

My HWH slide is stuck partially open. HWH is impossible to contact without a two week wait for a call back. I've also tried to email them.
I know that I can release the two solenoids by unscrewing the T-handles to RETRACT the slide. That's on their website. Has anyone used this technique to EXTEND their slides. I'll be here for about a month and would like to get the slide out while I wait for some technical help to resolve the problem. It stands to reason that one should be able to move the slide either way, but I don't want to make a bad situation worse. My slide has no winch or other means to move it.

Thanks for all your responses. Ultimately, I had TWO problems: a loose battery cable AND a loose wire into one of the solenoids. Unit is running fine now, once I took some basic steps.

About a month ago we had a problem with our HWH slide system. The slides would not stay in. Unfortunately we were at a rest area 100 miles from anywhere. My wife called HWH and we got connected to a great guy (dont remember his name). We talked for a few minutes, he told me what to do, and we were on the road in 15 minutes. Great people.
Anyway, to keep it short, each slide has 2 solenoids, one for out pressure and one for in pressure. When the pump runs, pressure is applied on both sides of the piston attached to the slide. One solenoid opens, releasing pressure on one side of the piston, and the slide moves in that direction.
Im no expert, but since the pump runs it sounds like you have one or both solenoids stuck open. Same effect as turning the bleed screw on the solenoid.
The tech said this happens after a number of years, crud buildup and deterioration of the seals. Solenoids for mine were $190 each direct from HWH.
My solution, bought a new RV!
Good luck.

there are a lot of things that can make it stop, but if its crooked, dont move it till you find out what caused it to stop.

The motor runs, but it just doesn't move. Fluid levels are fine. I agree that since it's crooked, I need to be careful. I've sold the MH to a buyer aware of the problems and I'll be in it for 3 more weeks. The sensible thing to do is nothing, but it would be nice to have the extra space; still, I don't want to make it worse for the new buyer. Any technical help might be through the RV Park handyman, but while he's knowledgeable, he's no pro.
