I have a 32ft. Rexall Vision it has two roof air conditioners. I can only run one at a time unless I'm under generator. It would be nice to be able to run both at the same time with land power especially during these very hot days. Is there a modification I can do?

One more question..
My speedometer runs at 40 mph even if I'm running 55 mph I have the 6.8 L V10 gas motor. Is there an easy fix for this?

Mike....the info above was a little confusing unless you understand all the terminology. Your coach is 30 amp. It takes almost 15 amps to start up an A/C unit. You would have to have everything else turned off to get both A/C's to work. No refer, no lights, no battery charging, no water pump etc. It can be done if you turn your refer to gas and turn everything else off, but is not practical.

In layman's terms, "wa8yxm" was talking about adding a power cord to the rear A/C unit and plugging it in separate from the coach. Most campsites have a 30 amp plug and a 20 amp plug. Unless you're handy with electrical, you may want someone to wire up your system so you can run both A/C's with either the generator or a second external plug.

The Energy Manager will let you run both but it switches back and forth.

Now, if you do not have an EMS here is your basic hook up for the rear AC

Breaker box-----Transfer switch--generator---Transfer switch---AC

What you do is this.. "Break" the circuit after the generator and modify as follows.

Generator----Pigtail with 20 amp outlet 20 amp inlet, 20 amp breaker----A/C

Now use 12 ga wire to do this and get some 12GA extension cords... You may need to replace the outlet end.. I took a 40 foot cord and cut it 1/3 2/3. Since I needed a 15 amp outlet with pigtail for another job I cut the 15 amp outlet off, replaced it with a 15/20 put a 20 amp plug on that piece, put a 15/20 amp outlet on the other part.. Both are currently plugged into the park's 20 amp outlet (Which in this park has a 30 amp breaker) one feeding the REAR A/C and the other my converter. Nice division of duties.. So long as I use my head the breakers hold.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

Installing an EMS is best done by the coach builder because in my old Pace Arrow the compressor cutout was controlled by the EMS while the fan kept working. You could wire it on it's own cord and plug that in separately.

install a decent EMS and it will let you operate two ACs, alternating draw, etc.
