Where can I get a serpentine belt # for a 2003 workhorse 8.1L w/A/C? I've heard that the Goodyear Gaterback is better than the original - any opinions? The belt is different for a Class A than for a truck.

If you have the P chassis you want the 103" belt. If you have the W chassis, you need the 108" belt. I prefer the Gates brand and have had terrible luck with Dayco. All you need to change it is a 3/8" breaker bar and a way to hold the breaker bar back to release tension on the idler pulley. I hold my breaker back with a ratchet strap and this gives me both hands to route the belt. Last time I changed one was beside I-80 and it took about 15 minutes.

Mine is a 2004 but I think the belt is the same. here are the numbers for different brands.

Serpetine Belt number Workhorse W0000581
Auto Zone Kelley Spring 1080K6
Gates K061080 or 25-061080
AC Delco 6K1080
Napa 25-061080
Carquest K061080
Goodyear 4061080

If you can't find a belt routing diagram somewhere on the engine, I could not find one, make sure you draw one before taking the old belt off. take digital pictures also, might help. A 3/8" drive ratchet or breaker bar inserted into the square hole on the side of the tensioner works fine to release the tension to remove the belt
