Shower faucet leaking into hose

I have a single handle ball shaped shower faucet, located at torso level with hose attached up high and Oxygenics shower head at end of hose.

With city water turned on, I can hear constant drip drip drip and water is constantly filling up shower head (which I lay on the floor of shower). Also if I put my ear up close to faucet, I can hear a constant sound like water is eeking through. I see no evidence of a leak anywhere other than coming through the hose to the shower head. I lift up the shower head and turn it to empty the water out of it....plenty of water, like the whole hose is full. I assume the dripping I hear is the water dripping into the hose which is stretched out vertically from up high to the floor of shower.

I thought the problem was just that the faucet would not completely shut off, so I had the cartridge replaced. Thought that fixed the problem while the RV tech was here, but problem still exists.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what is happening?

Do you have the wrench that came with it? It is a flat thing with a half circle cut out a handle on the middle of the circle, the ends of the metal are bent down

Also the handle may have a hex wrench in it

Use the hex wrench to remove the handle.. Then use the "Spanner" to tighten the ring about 1/2 turn and see if that helps.. You may need to tighten even more

IF THAT does nto do it. take the inner ring loose (NOTE TURN OFF WATER and bleed pressure first) and remove the ball/handle assembly, Under that you will find two rubber things on springs, Remove them as well GO TO a good hardware and hand them to the plumbing clerk...

You are looking at 10-25 dollars in parts,

If There is a name like DELTA or PEARLESS or ____ on the trim, Write it down and bring it to hardware too.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

Thanks for all your comments.

Looks like I better change my water pressure regulator. The gauge actually shows 60! Should be 40-50, right?

I do have a shut off valve at the shower hose, which I have turned off in the meantime.

So sounds like a new faucet would be the next step if lowering the water pressure doesn't help.

Installing things to stop a leak is not fixing the issue. The faucet stops/starts the water flow. If the repair did not work and it was the right cartridge then it time for a new high end faucet that should last many years. AS stated they are the same as you house, except that most Rvs do not use higher end plumbing faucets.

It's no different than a home shower Replace the shower faucet cartridge if it's leaking while it's off....
