Yesterday, We drove about 60 miles, and when we stopped... the slides wouldn't slide out. There is no noise. Everything seemed very normal when we put the slides in yesterday morning. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks everyone for the info. I have it fixed and here is what happened. I called Tiffin and got a tech on the line. I took my test light and checked the breakers and slow blow fuses for power. They were all hot. Then I tried the switch again and both slides worked. Thats good for now but, who knows? At least now I know how to let them in and out by hand. I am sure the problem will return. Again thanks everyone for the help. Second week fulltimers

If both slides are affected, it sounds more than a breaker. It could be the parking brake interlock. On my Tiffin Allegro Bay there are no fuses for the slides, just self resetting breakers. These are tied together with a common hot, that is a bar across the top of these breakers.
My main electronics are on the passenger side, behind the entry door and battery bank.
Also as a note, while going through the wiring I found a loose crimp to the jack control box, which explained why my auto level would reset periodically.
PM me if you want and I can send you the schematic of the panel and photos of mine.
If you have any questions go to Tiffin's web site and ask the question. They called me the next day when my breaker failed, to walk me through the location.

For more Tiffin specific answers, I suggest you join the Tiffin RV Network website. This is a very Tiffin specific website: www.tiffinrvnetwork.com

I think you probably have one electric slide (bedroom) and one hydraulic slide (living room) based on later Open Roads, If nothing is happening with either slide, it is most likely your parking brake or park lockout switches. Try cycling your system through Drive, Park, Emergency Brake a few times.

On our Allegro you have to have the key on and the emergency brake must be on before the slides will work...

Try disconnecting the negative pole on the house batteries.

Not knowing exactly how your slides work, I assume that since they are electric, there is a motor attached to the running gears via mechanical linkage tubes. That's how mine works. And every so often, it will shear the bolts that connect the linkages to the motor, requiring me to replace them. If that's your case, then be sure to replace with Grade 8 bolts and not just your everyday hardware store bolts.

The "shear" factor is by design to help protect the slide mechanism in case it gets bound up. But, after sliding and rotating and working and traveling down the road, the bolts also tend to loosen a little allowing some play and eventually the force of activating the slide will shear them off.

A Grade 8 Bolt will have these markings on the head:

There is NO shear by design factor on your type slide out. What causes repeat shearing of bolts is NOT using Grade 8 WITH the long smooth shank. IF you have any of the threads of the bolt that engage the square driveshaft, it WILL shear regardless of Grade 8 bolts. Also, when they shear, look at the 1/4 inch hole in the steel driveshaft. You will see it is NOT 1/4 inch round, but slightly elongated. That allows the driveshaft to shift from the torque of going in and out and will hasten the bolts shearing. The FIX is to cut the 2 inches off the end of the driveshaft and drill 2 new 1/4 inch holes in the driveshaft to get a tight fit when you install the new bolts. Doug

Sounds electrical to me with no noise. Probably something simple. Check fuses. Check to make sure there is 12V going to the switches and motor. I'd start with fuses.
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

Thanks very much for all of your input. We have a 2005 Tiffin Allegro Open Road, 34 foot with a large slide in living room, small bedroom slide. We believe this is an electrical issue, because when we pulled in, put levels down and pushed slide, there was no movement, and no noise of any kind. Both slides are affected.?????

As I posted previously, check to see if you have power to the solenoid that operate both slides.

I had the same thing happen on our Allegro Bus. On ours, there are 3 solenoids in the right rear compartment above the inverter. When the slide out rocker switch is pushed it supposedly connects the middle solenoid to the third one, and that powers the slides.

The middle solenoid wasn't connecting power to the third, so I took one end of the cable wire on the middle solenoid and connected it directly to the 3rd one. The slides worked fine after doing that, but eventually I bought a new solenoid and connected it as original.

I don't know which Tiffin you have, but yours might have a similar set up.

I'm sure you know this, but make sure your transmission is in park, parking brake is on, key in ignition and in running.
I had an issue with 1 slide and found it was the breaker on the control panel went bad, fortunately after contacting Tiffin, they pointed out the panel I had was for 4 slides, mine only has 3, so I was able to just swap to the empty breaker.
