staring the generator?

How do you start the generator on a 97 Damon Intruder? I tried to start it at the generator and the dash and nothing. I may have to replace the fuse but I want to make sure that there's not some special switch that I don't know about.

Thanks.

Verify the fuse specs. 250 volt fuse is not normal for enset.
Memory says it should be a slow blow 32 volt fuse.
Suggest putting de-oxidation grease on the metal portion of the fuse. Don't forget to clean off any oxidation on holder.

Changed the F2 fuse and it started up and ran great.

That's the way it seems to work you but 1 and it will blow every time. So I bought a box of them.

The best advice is to buy 2 fuses and then you will not blow the first one.

I was checking out the generator and I found that the F2 is Fuse #2. The holder looks different on F2 than F1. Anyway F2 was burnt out and the parts stores around here were closed for the night so in the morning I with pick up another fuse or 2. The fuse that popped was a 250Volt 4 amp and I am hoping that's why it popped because it should be 250 volt 5 amps. If the new 5 amp fuse go's then I will have some more checking to do. I will let you know how things workout.

House batteries have full charge I did try starting with the switch on the generator and I checked the 5 amp fuse that's next to the start switch on the generator. That fuse is marked F1 and next to that fuse there is something marked F2 doesn't look like a fuse and up on the right side of the enclosure that has the fuse and start switch are two (I think) small white reset buttons. I will troubleshoot this deeper. Thanks
Also the gen did run two weeks ago when I was looking at the rig to buy it so I know it does run and sounds good.

When pushing the gen set start button and you get no response or any sound that the starter is trying to turn, the first thing that comes to mind is the "house battery/ies" is dead or the disconnect switch is OFF. Most gensets start from the house battery so get a volt meter and check the voltage, should be 12.7 volts for a fully charged battery. Good luck and report back your findings

I would try to start the genset from the unit itself.
If it starts check the fuse and make sure the control cable is connected securely to the genset.
No, there is no magic switch.

Did you try using your boost switch, which ties the chassis and house batteries together, while you push the generator start button?
