Surge Guard Auto Transfer Switch

Our MH is equipped with a Surge Guard 41260 Automatic Transfer Switch. It states that it includes surge protection/suppression up to 2600 Joules. Is this satisfactory for a surge protector, or do any of you recommend separate surge protection/EMS. I was considering a PI Unit 50A Hard Wire. Then I saw the transfer switch and wondered if I should still purchase the added protection.

Surge protection is not full power protection. You can't beat the PI HW50C.

The Surge Guard 41260 (about $215) has very limited surge & fault protection. So, yes, you should use a surge/fault protector.

The Surge Guard 40250-RVC (about $600) has full surge & fault protection.
