Thanks to everyone that took the time to give me suggestions on how to either sell or turn my motorhome back to the bank.

I will be talking to the bank tomorrow to see what, if anything they are willing to help me out with. After that, I guess, depending on what they are willing to do, is maybe lower my price again with the hopes someone will want it. I do have some funds I can make up the difference with, so maybe, if I'm lucky.

Keep your fingers crossed for me, and again thanks to all.

Thanks for all the information and suggestions. I have it listed on RV Trader, and to find it, search for motorhomes around the Greer, SC area. It should come right up. As far as listing it on Craigs list, that will be my next thing to do.
When I first listed it, I received all kinds of calls from all over the country that wanted to sell it for me for prices ranging from a couple of hundred dollars to over $500. When I checked them out on the internet, guess what? Most of them were fly by night companies or didn't have a good reputation. Hopefully I can sell it and not take too much of a loss. Thats better than just giving it back to the bank and taking a beating. Wish me luck!

Craigslist can lead to getting some garbage calls but all it takes is one right call.
Keep in mind that right now the bank has the title to your coach so for you to sell it to anyone, you will have to write the check to the bank, for the full amount of the difference, to get the title released to the new owner. If you cannot write the check for the difference, perhaps you can work something out with the bank for a personal loan/second mortgage, etc for the difference.

We sold our 12-year-old Georgetown on consignment last December. Although it was not as successful as I'd hoped, we did get a fairly good price (about 5K below blue book retail and slightly above BB wholesale). It was 35% less than we'd paid for it in a private sale 4 years earlier.

One advantage we had was that the loan we took out to buy it with was a home equity loan and not one tied to the ownership of the vehicle. We'll still be paying that off for a while yet!

Terry, just a thought but why don't you get a dealer take my keys off me price now, so you know what you'll be dealing with roughly, anything you can get over and above that on a private sale will be a bonus or at least let you see what the worst scenario is.

I'd then take the time daily to upload it to places like Craigs List, all RV Forum websites (most of them have a rigs for sale thread/section), also auto trader and any other number of places where there is an RV's for sale section.

Yes the above my be a lot of work in the interim but it'd be worth it if you kept an extra 10, 20 or 30% sale price in your pocket. I know how pain in the rear uploading to free websites can be to keep it on the front page by deleting and reposting with pictures every day sometimes twice a day even approaching weekends when most folks are looking. Believe me it's worth it though to keep it on the front page. That's how we rent out our properties and daughters rooming house at Uni using freebie ad sites.

Have you considered putting it with a busy RV consignment location - RV's are the types of things folks like to see, touch, feel, experience so if you put plastic down to protect floors and seat coverings maybe that's another option?

Just a few ideas FWIW and I'm sure others that buy and sell RVs more consistently might have some other ideas so you don't have to let it go bargain basement price.

So I stopped at my friendly Bank Of America today to see what help I could get from them. Like all of you said, not much. I did get a phone number for the repo portion of the bank, so I called them to see what they had to say. If I turned it in, they sell it at auction to RV dealers, who, of course, pay as little as possible for it, the resell it themselves. After discussing my situation, I decided to run it again for another 8 weeks on RV Trader and dropped the price another $5,000, down to $125,900. If that doesn't work, at the end of the 8 weeks, I guess I'll see what the rV dealers or Camping World will give me for it and get out of it that way. Thanks all for your advise and help.

What is the exact model of your unit and you might give a link to the RV Trader site, as well?

Don't forget Craigslist. It is free so you have nothing to lose. Just post lots of pictures and give a complete description.

They were certainly not willing to work with us when we turned ours in. We wanted an extension but they would not comply. We had been continous customers since 1988, but it made no difference to B of A. We finally, after 4 months of talking with their reps, just asked them where they wanted it delivered.

They are the bank that stole thousands of dollars from my Dad and when he filed a complaint, they said "tough, hire a lawyer".
