Traveling from Va Beach VA to Cape Cod MA 38 Ft motorhome

Hi trying to get some information on a trip we are taking. We are traveling in a 40 ft motor home towing with a dolly and need to know the best way to get to Cape Cod. We read the regulations on the NJ turnpike says we can tow with a dolly but then we read the Garden State Parkway we can't get on with the dolly. And I really don't want to go the George Washington Bridge. Any ideas would be greatl appreciated

I would leave Va Beach and go straight up I-64 to I-81..then take 81 to 78 to 287 north to 84 to 90 to 495 and straight out to the Cape....probably a little longer but misses all the traffic and bridges in NY and NJ...
I always thought you could use a dolly on the GSP but not the tpke....Chuck
