Upgrade to a DP?

We bought a low mileage 29 foot '88 Coachmen Classic Class A gasser in 2004 that has served us well but the time has come to think about getting another coach. We don't want to spend more than 25k and don't want anything bigger than 32', 30' would be preferable even. I know there isn't much in the way of DPs that fit these criteria but I did see a '97 30' Safari in the local classifieds, since sold, for 24k that looked nice and pretty much what I was hoping to find.

I'm looking for any advice here...brands or models to look for or avoid, or if it's not a practical endeavor at all. We are ready for a better, quieter ride and the gassers I've driven seem to have even less pep than our old Coachmen and are just as loud in the cockpit. I don't want get into a DP only to get killed by unanticipated repair costs either. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Yes I'm aware of things like tires and really anything else common to a gasser. I don't know about diesels though so any advise on what to look for regarding the drivetrain, suspension, etc., specific to a DP would be helpful.

As I recall the tires were quite new on that particular motorhome.

Winnebago had a 32 foot diesel in the early 2000's. Like maybe 2001 or 2002. Talked to someone on the way to Alaska that said it was a "rocket".

No I'm familiar with the Trek. I think it was a Serengeti. It was a DP. Here's something similar.

What's wrong with your current coach. We love our '88 DP but I think you may be looking for something that does not exist. The 30' Safari was likely a Trek and has very specific interior designs which do not include a bedroom (Magic Bed).
Let us know a bit more.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?
