Is anyone running or know anything about Wanli Motorhome Tires (245/70/19.5) I can buy a set of 6 plus the spare for $2200.00 installed. They are made in China but I have not been able to find reviews for Motorhome use.

Wanli's are run on a lot of trucks. I've bought 19.5's for my old motorhome. They ran smooth and lasted as good as Michelin's. I'm also ran Samson's and they were good too.

Iโ€™d like to see anything close to evidence to back up a statement like that.

All you need to do is read the various threads on this, and other, forums about โ€˜badโ€™ tires to see that thereโ€™s very rarely a mention of off-shore tires.

Further, some of the more popular brands like Double Coin and Samson amongst others have proven to be very high quality in commercial truck service.

Why would one need evidence to back up a personal opinion? I also will not buy foreign made cars Canada excepted as Canada is our 51st state. I have little or no choice for most clothing and shoes but I do as much as possible look for the union label

I have no desire to enrich those providers of goods to my country after they took our money and ran offshore.

You wouldnโ€™t need any evidence to back up a personal opinion. To justify that opinion as factually accurate and the best idea is another story.

Iโ€™d personally rather trust my, and my familyโ€™s life, to the BEST products, regardless of where they come from.

The problem with blind national protectionism is it, like karma, comes back around and bites you in the butt.

Look at โ€˜Americanโ€™ companies and where their money comes from. GM for example, prior to 2008 to exclude skewed bailout bucks, held a +10% share of the auto biz in China, the UK, Russia, Korea, Australia and Argentina. In Canada, Brazil and Mexico it was over 20%, in Argentina and Columbia it was well over 30%.

If the rest of the world thought like that, โ€˜ours first, theirs neverโ€™, GM, previously the biggest corporation in the world, would have been bankrupt decades earlier.

The same can be said of dozens of โ€˜Americanโ€™ companies. A recent study showed that the single most universally understood word the world over was โ€œCokeโ€.

Imagine if the rest of the world had said โ€˜Weโ€™re not going to buy Coke because itโ€™s made by a โ€˜foreignโ€™ company.โ€™ decades back?

They're most likely truck tires, which I prefer anyway.
There's only so many ways to make a tire, for DOT approval and for staying out of bit trouble.
These days, I'm a big fan of Hercules and until proven otherwise, I'll go with their availability, durability and cost savings.
Check out their company history that are owned by Cooper.

Because you've implied a non-existent safety issue with foreign made tires in the stating of your opinion. Your real opinion is that you have no desire to enrich those providers of goods to your country after they took our money and ran offshore. That's fine, but don't imply a safety issue where none exists.

Lots of American companies take the money you spend with them and move it offshore. They'll keep doing that until tax laws change. Totally different discussion tho...

If I had a choice, I would buy the Hankooks. They're a great tire with a smooth ride.

Good luck finding that. With today's world economy every brand has tires built all over the world.

Not to mention that it has not been effectively demonstrated that foreign made tires are inferior safety-wise than US-made tires. Yes, "knock-offs" or fake versions of US-branded tires have issues and are illegally imported. But foreign brands imported to the US, like Wanli, compete legitimately with other brands and as such need to offer a safe, reliable product or they'd be out of business.

Every US brand (Goodyear, Cooper, etc.) has manufacturing facilities overseas. Conversely, many foreign brands have facilities in the US (like Michelin, Bridgestone and Pirelli). The DOT code on the tire will tell you where it was made.

In general you do get what you pay for. If you want to spend 2x or 3x to buy an "American" brand be careful - the brand isn't a guarantee that it was made in the US. The compromise in a lower-priced tire is often in tread design that might result in more road noise and/or materials that might result in a harsher ride. Then there's just pure mark-up because of the brand - paying more for a name. The compromise in a less expensive tire is not necessarily in safety.

Many tires are built int the USA and all you have to do is look at the DOT info on the side wall and it will tell you the country of origin. For instance there are some Toyo tires that are made in the State of Georgia manufacturing plant.
