What to use to remove the glue from the underlayment

We got the old roof tore off and all the hardware. Now it's like walking on fly paper minus the stringy stuff. Underlayment is very tacky.
What have you guys used and had success with removing glue? We tried Acetone and not much luck.

If you do NOT re-deck the roof the NEW adhesive will not bond to the old deck/adhesive and you will have lots of visible bumps and debris showing up on top the new EPDM. There are NO shortcuts to reroofing an RV. Doug

Ok... old adhesive is going to stay. We have come up with another plan. It will work out just fine for the roof.
Thanks for the input!

I agree with Doug. Removal could harm the plywood.

You do not attempt to remove the adhesive. You deck OVER the existing wood. Doug
