Which old motorhome to buy

The Mrs and I are considering building a skoolie vs getting and older RV and fixing up what needs to be fixed.

If we go the motorhome route we would want one preferably with Cummins and an Allison. Definitely don't want any new computerized ****.

Then there is the walls and floor. I know that Travel Trailers are just styrofoam covered with Luan. We want to avoid that as well.

The question is, were there any motorhomes built with real framing, either metal or wood, with a drivetrain that was built to last?

Yes, we want an EM50 UAV.

There are some very good older RVs that have metal studs and real wood floors, not frames. but you are looking at more money. Wanderlodge, Prevost, Newell , Monaco, Newmar and Foretravel and many others. Give us an ideal what length and how much and pretty sure you will get a lot of links posted. All of these will ride like your car, not a school bus. I also drove one.

Have you ever driven an old school bus? Back 35 years ago I drove one for the local school district. Sometimes I did multi hour activity bus trips. Believe me when I say school buses are not built for ride comfort instead they are built for durability and safety. Do yourself a favor and buy an older class A.
