Wiring LED 3rd brake light on back of 99' Newmar

Trying to wire an aftermarket LED 3rd brake light into the rear of a 1999 Newmar Mountain Aire 38ft class A. The LED light came with no wiring instructions and has black/white/green/yellow wire leads. All lights on the LED are red. It is supposed to be a stop/turn/headlight version. Can someone please tell me which wires go where on this LED light bar?

No. The Green wire and the yellow wire are brake and or turn signals lite wires as I have posted 3 times? The white wire most likely is the ground and the Black is the Tailite or vice versa. U dont have to tape off the black wire if u decide not to hook up tail lite u simply just dont connect it.

Everything everyone said here has some truth to it, but you are still going to have a flashing light when stopping and turning simultaneously, and from a distance of about 20 feet, at night, the lights are going to be more confusing to the person behind you than anything else. They are not going to be able to distinguish the left side from the right side of a 6" light fixture. JMHO

I would say that most people would get the message (be able to distinguse between left and right signal) that being said if u read about it being suggested that he most likly has seperate turn and brake lites and does as i say and wire the green and yellow wires together and hook them to the brake lite only there will be no confusion as it wont flash.IF he has a dual filament Bulb then to obtain the same result he will need to run a wire from the front where the turn signal switch wire is that by passes the flasher and turns the brake lites on if he does not want this middle/third brake lite to flash when putting on signals

sounds like you have the same 3ed brake light I have. You might have to do a little experimentation but once wired correctly it will work just fine.
No flashing as stated by some.

i can't answer your direct question, but unless your Newmar has separate stop and turn signal bulbs, (as in AMBER turn lights) you are going to be surprised how much more difficult it is to wire in that third stop light. You can do it very simply if you don't mind it blinking when turning while braking.

yes that would be a problem for sure. Most likely need a trailer lite converter wired in also same as u do when your trailer is dual filament lite assemble and supply vehicle is seperate turn and brake lites
what i would do myself is take the yellow and green and join together and hook up to the MH seperate brake lite assmebly IF the MH is Dual lite system like mentioned above.Save a lot of screwing around.U dont really need this thing flashing every time u put flashers on anyhow

Auto wiring usually has green-rt turn; yellow-lft turn; brown-tail; black-ground. That leaves some confusion for your black and white wires. I would hook it up white-tail and black-ground. If it doesn't work, switch white and black around. LED's are diodes and if you reverse bias it, you won't hurt it.

like I posted I beleive the white = ground and Black= Brown tail
but it will only lite one way because its LED so like u say just try it on a battery and will tell the tale

I had a similar light once and the left half flashed with the left turn signal, the right half flashed with the right turn signal, and both sides went on solid with the brakes.

I think I would do a little experiment. Yellow and green are usually turn signal colors on a trailer wiring. So hold the black wire on the negative side of a 12v battery, and touch each of the other wires to the positive terminal one at a time and see what happens. Also try touching the yellow and green to the positive at the same time. Then touch all three (ygw) to the positive at the same time.

My guess is that the yellow and green go to the turn signals, the black is ground, and the white either goes to +12v or the running lights.

Will be interesting to find out what happens.

well green and yellow go to your turn signals, white is ground and will assume black is from headlite power(tail lites at rear=brown usually)so black to brown tail lite wire
