Hey gang,
Check ENG light stays on after turning key on. Fluids are all good & don't see anything out of place.

What all is the system checking for upon key on?

Thanks,

Some where I have the list of codes, or you can signup with this https://quickserve.cummins.com/info/index.html

Then maybe you should have access to your engine data base along with drawing and manuals.
I use this site when I can't sleep at night.

Update:

Took Gus out for a short spin ~4 miles up to 50mph and the codes cleared & Check ENG light went out. Drove great as always.
Still waiting on Cummins to hear back.
For now, I'm letting the computer do its thing and tell me everything is okay. Faults = 0

Thanks again for the passcode to the MMDC. That is a really cool feature. I have an idea what the error was and waiting on Cummins to confirm.

That must be the small panel next to my camera screen. I have played with it before and the diagnostic mode requires a code that I have not found yet. I do have all the original manuals and paperwork.
I did find out there is a big rig diesel shop 7 miles from my place and they will read the codes tomorrow.
Hopefully something simple & maybe they can show me how to read the MMDC display.

Thanks.

When my light came on, i called Freightliner, gave my Vin # and they gave me my 4 digit passcode. I was then able to read the code. Searched Internet on the code, replaced low presuure fuel regulator on C7 CAT. Fixed the problem.

A check engine light can be almost anything from low fluids (you checked) to s bad wire going to the Ambient Air Temp sensor.

I hope your luck was better then mine as my 2003 Bounder needed a turbo when the check engine kept coming on. If that is the problem the repair is in the thousands not the hundreds. Jim

Thanks, guys. Got to love all the sensors. "Gus" was great on our 2900 mile run at Thanksgiving & I went to pull him out to caulk some areas this morning & the darn light is on. I did start him & pulled out of the garage to pull the awning out, did my work, then fired him up & backed him back in. Light still on.
The coolant has the level sensor, & coolant level is good, plus I have the low coolant alarm on the dash, but guess that doesn't mean that sensor is good.
Guess it's time to shop around for the unit to read he codes.

We have a 14 mile round trip Thursday for the weekend. :-).

I would check with Freightliner/Gaffney to see if there is a built in code function (such as blinking lights when certain sequence followed).

If you have a coolant level sensor, that is one of the higher failure rate items.

Mr. GSF,

Seems like everything has a sensor now. I've always wondered too exactly what that noise is when you turn the key to the acc. position. You can hear a clicking under the coach that runs the whole length. (Both of our coaches made the same clicking noise).

You will need to have the codes deciphered to see what the cause of illumination. Could be a sensor somewhere.

Good luck,
MM.
