Camper Oven Tips

My wife and I just moved up from a Hybrid camper to a TT. Our new TT has a oven which means I can now pack away the old Coleman collapsible oven.

Do I need to do any modifications to the oven to make it really usable? On the test burn, it seemed to put off a lot of heat. Do I need to add any thermal mass? What about a external thermometer? How dependable are the settings on the oven knob?

The oven is a Suburban SRNA3 oven/cook top combination.

I do the same. Put it on the solid metal rack just above the burner. An unglazed terra cotta tile will work also. Get an oven thermometer so you really know what the temp is.

My DW puts a pizza stone on the bottom rack to keep the bottom of whatever she is baking from burning.
