3 cups liquid-Use the juice from the pineapple and mandarin oranges and add water to make the difference.
1 3 oz pkg orange jello
1 3 oz instant vanilla pudding mix
1 3 oz tapioca pudding mix
1 15 ounce can mandarin oranges drained well
1 15 ounce can crushed pineapple drained well.
1 8 ounce carton Cook Whip

In a saucepan bring liquids to a boil. Whisk in gelatins and pudding mixes. Return to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and cool completely. When cool fold in the oranges, pineapple (I chill them while the pudding mix is cooling) and Cool Whip. Cover and refrigerate for at least two hours.

You can use strawberry jello and a 16 ounce carton of frozen strawberries too.

My wife and daughters love the old orange Jell-O, carrots & pineapple salad. It might take me a while but I'm going to see if I can swap this one in once and see how they like it. I was raised on the other and got burned out on it.

Thanks SDPat, that sure sounds like something my DH would like. Going to give it a try when he gets home from rehab.

Yes, the tapioca pudding mix is a Jell-O product and is in the same area as the instant and cooked puddings and jello. I had trouble with the thought of cooking the instant pudding too... but hey it works.

Is the tapioca pudding mix also a Jell-O product? I'm also mind twisted over boiling instant pudding. LOL!
