Blocked Caller Question

I’m curious , if I’ve blocked a phone number, what does the blocked party hear if he calls, a message, no ring, or nothing at all? Thank you

From Verizon's website:

Callers you have blocked will hear "Welcome to Verizon Wireless. The number you are trying to reach has calling restrictions which have prevented the completion of your call." People attempting to text to your number will get a notification that delivery failed.

What I want is not blocing but a "Spam caller" button you press after you answer (blocking happens next) Generally blocking a spammer does not help cause the number blocked has nothing to do with the caller.

So what happens when you press the Spam button?
First the line is locked, the caller can not hang up
Then the system traces back to the real caller. and identifies him or her
Then the system would print a form for you. Said form is the one you file with the court. in addition you get the legal service address for the caller (on said form) Attach the proper fee, sign and date it, hand to court clerk and the caller is harrassed to the tune of 500-1500 dollars per call

That would put the 3rd class call bussiness in the red overnight

How are you going to enforce this when the caller is in East Bopahl Pakistan, and owns the phone company which is exempt by international law?

Get some scamer buster to get even 🙂

Rare, absolutely. But, it does happen. Co-worker received a phone call from a scammer that spoofed her husbands phone number. They were sitting next to each other, and her phone rang with his number on caller ID.

Be careful with blocking phone numbers. Many of the overseas scammers spoof the called ID, and the number that appears on your caller ID is not their number. I typically manually reject calls and send a text message, busy, can I call you later? Had a "chat" with somebody, who said "I never called you". Here's the screen shot of you calling me. Finally dawned on me what happened.

I don't know what the solution is, but I tire of 4-10 calls each and every day on both of my cell phones

Has the IRS also suspended your account for suspicious activity and has issued a warrant for your arrest unless you contact them? 🙂 🙂

I set my phone ringer not to sound if the number is not on my contact list. And on my answering message it's "Can't come to the phone or I don't recognize your number so leave a message otherwise your number will be blocked".

Should I Answer, free down load with community data base. It picks up the blocked call and hangs up immediately, no ring just shows blocked call & the number.

You need to be more specific? Are you using the Phone's built-in call blocking tool, or did you install a separate app? On my smartphones:

If calling to AT&T Wireless (Samsung Note), blocked callers hear the message "the wireless customer you are calling is not available. Please try again".

If calling to Verizon Wireless (iPhone), blocked callers hear my voicemail or a custom message.
