Cell phone outages reported in Knoxville, TN, Kentucky

I think today was the first time I have experienced the cell phone not working because of carriers problems.

Apparently any carrier that runs off ATT towers was affected. ATT internet service was also down for a huge area of central eastern US, for about 5 hours.

Verizon phone service was not affected.

It sounds like a wire-line provider issue, Though I'm surprised if all wireless cariers are using wire to pass the traffic..

Another possible issue is intentional interference.. It is possible to knock out cell phones over an area. how wide an area is determined by how much you spend on hardware.

I heard about this earlier. Seems to affect different carriers. Could be anything. Cut fiber. Cut copper. Bad transfer equipment. Bad translations.

Thats a neat website.Thanks for posting it. After reading some of the comments I now know that I'm not the only one hating both my carriers.LOL.
