Change sat. Dish on directv

I take DVR from house(SWM)and use in MH (multiswitch). Looking for a quicker method of setting up. Currently the DVR has to go in and determine its not swim (or vice versa). Finally, I can get to the menu that allows me to change satellites. All in all takes about 30 minutes. Is there a way to bypass all of that and go directly to the menu?

It's easy to change a non-SWM antenna to SWM and would likely be your best choice. "Google" Winegard SWM setup and you will find the instructions for changing a non-SWM antenna to SWM. It requires a SWM8 Switch and PI29 (not 25) power inserter and a bit of labor.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

not that i have seen, might be easier to convert dish to swm using a SWM8

is that just plugging the 2 inputs from winegard into the swim then out to input one on receiver?

Yes, but with a power inserter (PI) between the receiver and the SWM8.

this is the one thing I haven't tried, but will give it a whirl...Use to be that you could press some button like exit on remote that would get off the startup and let you go to menu...but doesn"t seem to exist any more.

I have a dedicated receiver for the MH. Stays set on multiswitch. Cost to buy plus $6/month. I have a D12-100.
