DISH loss of signal

We have a Wally receiver with the DISH package. We are losing signal periodically on our premium channels such as ESPN. However, when we access local channels over DISH we do not seem to have this problem.

My first thought was I might have a cable issue. But after seeing that the local channels come in fine over long periods of time it makes me think there is some other issue. I am curious if anyone has had a similar problem or has any ideas as to why this happening?
Thanks,

How do you get the signal to the satelite?

There is no cable going from the ground to the bird, nobody goes up there to slide another disc in. There are ground stations to feed the data to the bird, that is the uplink. It is subject to the same problems as the receiving end.

Sats have an uplink that feeds them but it has nothing to do with the dish we use to watch content on a tv.

Correct.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.

My first thought was Sun Fade, you know that time of day when the sun is shinning at the same angles at the dish?

And that can be either up or down. If you lose all chans, then it is the download, if its only 1 channel, then it is the up feed.

Nothing you can do about it, generally it is seasonal and only lasts for 15 minutes or so.

What kind of antenna are you using? Dome, tripod, portable, Trav'ler?

Dish had a software update a few weeks ago for problems in the Wally. They posted how to do the update.

Have you run diags?

Sounds like a weak signal on one sat.

On your remote, press menu, 6, 1, 3 and report back.
