Galaxy S4 downloading pictures-UPDATE

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 with an added mini SD card for storage. How do I get the pictures out of the phone without taking the back off and removing the SD card?

I have tried hooking the phone to my computer using the supplied USB cord and I have downloaded the drivers from the internet but the only thing my computer sees is the phone as a modem. It does not see the phone as another drive or allow me to see the contents of the phone for downloading. All of my previous phones have been able to be seen by the computer as another drive when hooked up via USB. Any suggestions?

Barney, you can also just use Dropbox which will auto upload any photos from your Galaxy 4. BTW, when I installed the Dropbox(DB) app on my Galaxy S, DB gave me 50G Free space for the first year. Apparently, a promo with Samsung. You can also set camera uploads for WiFi only to avoid using your mobile data.

You're photos will then be available on your desktop/notebook once synced. DB does have an app available for Linux 32/64 bit.

Thank you Bill but the computer does not see the phone as a drive. There is no DCIM or any listing at all of files. The phone is only listed as a modem in Control Panel. Clicking on that does not yield a file list.

At the present time, I am using Linux Ubuntu for an operating system. Later today or tomorrow I will try it again using Windows. Ubuntu does not even see the phone at all.

Hook it back up to your computer. When the phone icon appears open the phone and look for DCIM and then camera. There should be 2 of these, one will be the internal HD and the other is the SD card. Once you get it open you will find you picks and you can move them to your computer.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
