HR24 audio feedback

I've just changed my Directv home service to hd with a Genie and two clients. I put an HR24 DVR in my rv and use a portable dish with SWM technology. After having sd for years, I am(for the first time) having trouble setting up. The cheapie hand held meters don't work with SWM and I don't seem to have an audible on the signal meters anymore. I eventually get a good enough signal but back and forth visual only is very time consuming. Should there be an audible? If so, am I not setting something correctly or is my new HR24 defective?

Feel your pain! I found an old DVDs player with a/v input for the screen. With a double outlet extension cord from the coach to the dish, power up the receiver and watch the video output on the little screen. A little extra moving of the receiver and two boots, but works well for a quick and best alignment.
Not recommended for setup in the rain;)

A Trav'ler SWM takes less then 10 minutes and locked on, usually by the time I have water & sewer hook up done. Much faster putting it down.

Thanks Y'all. Other answers have informed me that none of the new Directv hd receivers have the audio anymore. With the new and much larger dish, I have to break down and rebuild it every time as well. I'm still figuring out if hd is important enough to justify the 1 to 2 hour set up versus the 10 minutes for sd.

With a partner you can use 2 way radios or else a camera setup like a baby monitor.
