Sensar vs. Rayzar???

Some time ago, a knowledgeable technician with the proper equipment conducted and posted the actual reception characteristics of various RV antennas, especially comparing the Sensar and the King Jack. I would really like to see some comments ad facts about the new Winegard Razar, and how it compares to the Sensar. A friend purchased a new trailer equipped with the Razar, but we have not had time to compare yet. I have the Sensar IV with the Sensar Pro panel, and am very well pleased with our setup, but I do know that the question about the new Razar will come up, and would like to see some actual results.

Batwing won
Now add the Wingman it gets better
Add the Sensar pro. better still.

but the basic Batwing won. Non better made for RV use.

Fixed site I can give you better antennas but not for RV use.

No- the new one. IMHO, a marketing mistake by Winegard- every new antenna is a Razar, from stick on the window sheets to the auto dome. Now the flat Razar (Sensar replacement) is gone- I liked it, as it acted like an omni when flat, bi directional raised, but with decent gain either way.

Out here in the sticks, everyone used to have a 100' tower with a 15' antenna and rotator. and we still couldn't get the Opry until Monday. Now, with modern satellite and stuff, we get it on Sunday, sometimes if the weather is right.

Yes, talking about the new one that looks a lot like a Jack. I wonder about it being so close to the top of a rig. But I did notice that they have a replacement that fits on an existing mast. If it outperforms the Sensar IV, its gotta be pretty good. Besides that I think the Batwind looks really cool.

I think he is talking about the new Winegard Rayzar Z1.
Looks like the Jack.
Got mixed reviews on Amazon, but a low number of reviews.

Assuming you are talking about the Winegard Rayzar automatic (dome style) the Rayzar is nothing like the Jack.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.

Keep in mind the Razar has changed- it was a flat panel that I thought worked quite well for a number of reasons. The current Razar is more like the Jack. I'm installing one tomorrow, but I don't have a rig with a Sensar available to do a comparison, though I know what we usually receive here.

The Sensar IV is still the best antenna available.
