My LG Premier from Amazon does that for $58.00. Connects to internet just like my computer does. It is a Tracfone that runs on Verizon tower. Purchase minutes, talk text and data as needed. Cost 25-30 dollars a month with heavy usage.

No kidding, spending over $100 for a new phone is nuts.
Well, when I consider how many devices and things a phone replaces I no longer see it that way. I seldom use my GPS, maps, cameras, watches and I don't need an address book, calendar, alarm clock, etc., etc.
Not that I am a big spender, I have a Google Nexus 5x that has been superseded by three Pixel models but my phone still meets my needs and then some.

What's a Jitterbug? It was a simple Samsung Tracphone. Money only goes so far, and when the choices come down to fuel for RVing and motorcycling, or wasted on a semi-useless device like a cell phone...well the decision actually is pretty easy.
