On most atwoods there are just two T-Stats. Operating and emergency cut out so if it works on Gas, those are good.

Now on the backside (inside) you will find a black box with wires running to it, Two of those (Black/red) are 12 volt.. Put a test light on them and see if the light lights. Hear if the relay clicks. Now you have 120 volt wires.

Make sure you have 120 volts coming in and out to the element, If so replace element. if not,< Well you now know what's not working.

Does it operate on propane OK? (both use same set of t-stats so if OK on propane then t-stats/circuit OK)

Electric element uses 120V AC from circuit breaker....is it tripped?
Element gets AC power via a DC relay that triggers the AC.

With Electric Switch ON you should have 12V DC power on WHITE wire going to control module and on YELLOW wire coming out of control module'

If you have 12V DC on those 2 wires then 120 V AC power should be on element.

Element burnt out is typical issue. Element is under cover on backside of water heater. Make sure 120V AC and 12V DC power off.....DC relay is inside that cover.

You need to find out if your electric heating element is OK or not. Most likely, it's dead.

If you drained your water heater (empty), and then hit the electric (on) switch, for even a few seconds, it will burn up the heating element immediately. It has to have water around it, otherwise, they burn up. Same is true in your home electric water heater (top and bottom elements).

My camper came with two switches. The one inside the camper on the wall and the one at the water heater. Both have to be in the ON position for them to work. Considering I leave my camper plugged in all the time, I always flip the rocker switch at the heater to off. Then if the switch on the inside gets flipped, it will not come on and risk the element burning out.

More than likely, it's your heater element. Its an easy fix to swap them out.

About 10 years ago the same thing happened to me. Finally realized that I had turned on the electric side without having filled the tank..burned out almost instantly.

The element is easy to replace and not expensive.

(not saying that this is your issue, but it's worth a thought.)
