Camco Fridge / Cabinet Bars Help!!

How in the heck do these things work? The ones I have are about 12" long and sound like there is a spring in there. They're supposed to expand to fit across the width of the fridge. How do I deploy them?

I know it's something simple, but I'm just not getting it!

Thanks,

Nobody has mentioned that they come in different sizes. Short ones (which seem to be what you have) are for the freezer or kitchen cabinets. Longer ones fit all the way across a fridge shelf. The adjustable end(s) only unscrew about three inches (IIRC) and then fly apart, never to go back together.

The bars can be installed across an opening or up and down, if that is more convenient (On our trailer up and down works best in the cabinet above the television.).

You may also find they stay in place better when actuallynplaced a bit inside the shelf area. Some fridges are tapered near the edge.

We put our in place and then tighten by turning the ends. We always loosen a few turns before removing them, too.

Don't try to adjust them first, then force them into place. It felt like that could damage the lining.

BTW, when we remove them, they lie nicely inside a cupboard, either on the bottom or slid along the side.

We sometimes use them in the freezer to separate things like pizza stood upright from other items just stacked in there, too. Keeps the boxes from falling every time you get something out of the freezer.

They were definitely with it, even though we will occasionally find one loose when we open the door after arriving...open slowly 😉

Hope this helps.

On one end, in your photo the end towards the top of the photo, turn the end which will extend that section outward so that you can adjust it to fit your space. There is a spring inside that allows some play. If I remember correctly, ours turn counterclockwise to loosen.
