Here is the history:
we had a Phaethon that we liked a lot, but we sold it because didnt have bunk beds and we weren't using enough. The bug didn't leave us, so recently we bought a gasser with bunks.
We have decided to go back to a diesel pusher and we are narrowing it down to these four units:
Tiffin allegro red 38qba, Berkshire 39bh, Fleetwood expedition 38b, and Winnebago Forza 38R.
Any comments? any pros and cons on either?
Thanks for the help.

Doc, we've owned a Winnabago and 2 Tiffin Phaetons. I really don't think you will make a mistake choosing either brand. We really like going to Red Bay, where if we mess something up, or want to upgrade or change things, there are so many pros in Red Bay qualified to make the changes. If we get a scratch, we go to Bruce Denton ' s body shop. ( thankfully, no scratches on the 2012 YET). Having owned both Tiffin and Winnebago, we would most likely stick with Tiffin
( the techs will work on other brands too)
2012 Tiffin Phaeton 40QBH
2005 Tiffin Phaeton Sold
2009 Lincoln MKX

My problem with the red is it looks like they haven't really worked in innovating it in the last 2 or 3 years.
And I think it would be a disappointment after our phaeton.
Fleetwood, on the other end, is out to prove that it was worth saving from the recent nose dive of the market, and consequent bankruptcy filing. With that they are trying hard to put out a product that is competitive.
Am I so naive?

I think you are probably right in your assessment of Fleetwood. By all accounts that I have read, ASV has really stepped up Fleetword in build quality and customer support.

I'd definitely select between the Tiffin and the Winnebago with the choices in that order. Nobody has a better track record of quality & support than Tiffin but Winnebago is not too far behind. If you happen to see something from Newmar, that is the name that I'd rate between Tiffin & Winnebago, if they have what you want. I would then choose based upon the price, assuming that all are equipped pretty much the same. Either Tiffin or Winnebago should serve you well.

I belive that you have already answered your own question and are trying to decide what brand, fuel, and drive train you want,
All I can offer is whatever makes you happy so do your research and listen to the advice from others then make your decision based on that.
